Hello Everyone! My name is Angel Garcia and I invite you to spend a minute in my shoes. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California
and from the age of twelve to thirty-three years old, I was an active gang member.
I am a four time convicted felon with ten plus years of incarceration under my belt.
I recently graduated community college with a 3.95 GPA.
I was President of my Phi Theta Kappa chapter, additionally President of Student Government. I am now 36 years old so... it’s never too late.
The message I would give to people is that
your past does not have to define you and your past doesn’t have to be who you are for the rest of your life.
I currently work for the mayor’s office here in my city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Never lose hope and remember, every day we wake up is a new opportunity to change ourselves!
