"Hi, my name is Eli. I’m a recent graduate from Kuyper College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I’ve been able to do a lot of youth work and work with populations who are vulnerable in my past several years of undergrad as well as my professional career.
It’s been a really interesting time, very stretching and very much filled with learning. Why? Because a lot of these issues I could walk away from. I didn’t have to deal with them. It didn’t affect me. You know, I didn’t bring them home, but they were real people. So, I had to learn how to be compassionate, to be empathic, to be perseverant, and to help people navigate their concerns and issues and gain life skills.
Oftentimes, that meant I had to ask for help; that meant I had to work with a team. Working with a team is good. I learned how important it is to work with communities in order to thrive and to live and to learn and to really become a much more just and great place for all people. Have a great one! Bye."
